PMMI—The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, producer of the Pack Expo show, released two new studies at this year's expo showing U.S. packaging machinery shipments increased by 6 percent, to $7.9 billion, in 2013, and that total U.S. consumption of packaged goods increased to $9 billion in 2013, with foods and beverages together accounting for more than half of shipments.
