Safety First: Safety Labels From CEMA
The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturer’s Association has developed safety labels to assist in accident prevention in and around conveyor systems. A wide variety of labels point out standard safety issues associated with the operation and/or maintenance of the equipment, from low clearance to exposed moving parts.
Horizontal and vertical labels are available. CEMA has placement guidelines and information about safety label meanings on its website.
While labels by themselves cannot prevent unsafe acts, guidelines were developed by the CEMA Safety Committee to provide consensus advice on the best use of safety labels on conveyors and related material handling equipment.
